The Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), in cooperation with the Commission on Science and Technology for Sustainable Development in the South (COMSATS), and in coordination with the Ministry of Higher Education in Oman, will organize a national workshop at the College of Applied Sciences in the city of Rustaq in Oman, on the repair and maintenance of scientific and engineering equipment in universities and research and small industries institutions, during the period from the 23rd to 27th of August, 2015. The workshop, which will be held in celebration of the city of Nizwa, the capital of Islamic culture for the Arab region for 2015, aims to facilitate the exchange of information and experiences among scientists, researchers, technicians, engineers, and industrialists in order to strengthen their scientific abilities and develop their skills in operating the scientific equipment and instruments, repairing their breakdowns, and methods of maintenance, and inform them of the cutting-edge technologies in this area. Thirty engineers, researchers, professors, and technicians from universities and scientific laboratories in Oman will benefit from this workshop, under the supervision of two experts from the Pakistan Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (PCSIR) in Karachi. Mrs. Wafaa El Alami, Head of Planning, Information, and Documentation Center, will represent ISESCO in the workshop and supervise its works.
