The “Ministry of
Higher Education And Scientific Research”, confirmed since the first “Annual
Education Conference” under the title "Education in UAE: Current Status
and Future Development" the importance of considering that half of the UAE
community is under the age of fifteen years.
Which makes the
training and preparation of children and meeting their aspirations a must, in
order for them to take their role and their place in the labor market and the
State in general, after being aware of all technical, scientific and artistic
developments in the world, in addition to the importance of taking into account
the requirements of quality, excellence and innovation in education from
kindergarten until the final stages of general education, university education,
higher education as well as to improve the level of scientific research, and
upgrade it.
This perspective
focuses on the most important needs of children that make them whole human
beings, and contribute to building a civilization of nations, when education is
backed by initiatives and other projects to protect the interests and
well-being of children in all parts of the globe, not just in the UAE. The UAE
has provided in the period between (2011-2013), immunization and vaccines to
about two million children in the world, as stated in the audited half yearly
Conference of the “Global Alliance for Vaccines And Immunization”, which began
in the Swedish capital “Stockholm” recently.
In order to please
and assist the underprivileged, His highness "Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid
Al Maktoum Campaign to dress one million children worldwide” was launched in
2013.
And in a few days the world celebrates "World Children's Day"
which falls on November 20th which was established in 1954by the
“United Nations” to be celebrated as a day of fraternity and understanding
worldwide among children, and work to enhance the well-being of children in the
world. The U.A.E. Board
on Books for Young People (UAEBBY) has been selected to be the international
sponsor of the 2015 edition of International Children's Book Day.
Sheikha “Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi”, (UAEBBY) Patron and Founder,
said, "Each year a different national section of the International Board
on Books for Young People (IBBY) is given the opportunity to sponsor “International
Children's Book Day”, and the (UAEBBY) is very proud to have been awarded the
honor of sponsoring the 2015 celebrations. “International Children's Book Day”
is an opportunity for us not to only celebrate the wonder of reading, but also
to reach out and impress the importance of reading within the community at
large and we are looking forward to share our message and our love of books
with the people of the U.A.E., the region, and the world."
