Today is the last day for accepting project proposals by
teams intending participation in the 2013-2014 Smart Applications Award of the Ministry
of Higher Education and Scientific Research. An official committee will subsequently
approve them no later than the 9th of this month, thereafter beginning
to develop each proposed application in the next three months.
The Ministry began receiving project proposals from the
2nd of July after holding several awareness workshops clarifying
Ministry services in which students from the three participating universities
(UAE, Khalifa and HCT) attended.
Participation must be a collective representation of the
university through a team comprised of no less than (2-5) students. Each university
may submit more than one proposal and more than one team representing it in more
than one category of the award. The application must be linked to one of the
key, sub or complementary services of the Ministry of Higher Education and
Scientific Research, that it offers to graduates; individuals G2C or to
businesses G2B, but not services provided to other government agencies G2G. If
participation is through a mobile phone application, at least one of the following
should be available in app stores (iOS, Android, BlackBerry OS, Windows). Development
of applications and mobile phone solutions must be by the students themselves at
their corresponding university.
