"Nahda
University" in "Egypt", in cooperation with "Perlis
University" in Malaysia, is organizing the first international “Conference
on Developing Higher Education in the Arab and Islamic World in the Age of
Globalization and Knowledge", on Monday, November 23rd, 2015,
which lasts for two days, under the auspices of Dr. Ahmed Abdul Khaliq,
Egyptian Minister of Higher Education.
The Conference aims
to develop higher education methods and techniques to keep up with the developments
at the age of globalization and knowledge, and discuss the prospects and
methods of cooperation between the Arab and Islamic countries in the areas of
development and modernization of higher education, and the ways of supporting initiatives
that aim to preserve the Arab and Islamic values in higher education.
The Minister pointed
out that the Conference addresses three main themes: The extent to which higher
education in the Arab and Islamic World assimilated globalization positive
aspects and methods of confronting its negative aspects , the integration of
knowledge into disciplines of Arab and Islamic higher education, and deepening
cooperation between Arab and Islamic institutions of higher education.
The Conference will
discuss a number of issues including: how to raise the competitiveness of
higher education institutions at the global level, the applications of global
standards in the admission of students and the development and evaluation of
faculty members, the methods of activating the mechanisms of programs and
curricula development by utilizing the results of scientific research, the
establishment of an Arab and Islamic entity to support Arab and Islamic higher
education institutions to absorb the positive effects of globalization and knowledge,
and paying attention to the training and development of the faculty and
academic leaders as per the international standards, and the issuance of accredited
certifications upon completion of the training period.
