The General Secretariat
of the Scientific Association of Human Resources Development Research in the
Arab World is to hold the third session of its annual scientific conference in
Morocco under the theme: The challenges of human resources development in the
Arab world in the 21st century. The conference is to be hosted by the
University of Ibn Zohr- Agadir, on Monday and Tuesday (15-16) December 2014.
The conference
includes five axes: the gap between the human resources development and its
investment, investment in the development of Arab women between reality and
expectations, quality education as an essential input to the development of
human resources, the reality of the development of Arab human resources in the
era of technology and knowledge economy, and the issues of human resources
development in the Arab world such as illiteracy, dropping out of education,
and poverty.
August 24th,
2014 has been set as the deadline for acceptance of papers / research so they
can be presented to the scientific committee of the conference to decide on its
suitability for participation in the conference, and in case of acceptance to
participate, a full paper / research should be sent in the form of an
electronic copy to the Secretariat of the Association no later than October 23rd,
2014.
The Human
Development Report 2014, recently launched by the United Nations Development
Program in Tokyo, has revealed the progress of the UAE in the UN human
development index with its various dimensions, praising what has been achieved
in this regard, as the UAE has made significant progress in the sectors of
health, education and gross national income, and the average age of the citizen
increased from 76.7 to 76.8 years, as compared with last year's report, while
the average years of study for the citizen is 13.3 years now, as compared with last
year, which was 12 years, and the human development index in general has increased
two ranks in the UAE to rank 40th among 187 countries, making it
maintain its advanced position in the category of countries with high human
development, through paying great attention to education in all stages, updating
and activating it, allocating all the financial resources that it needs, and the
development of health services , housing services, culture, and information, in
addition to its keenness on finding modern and sophisticated infrastructure.
