The Ministry of Education – Higher Education Affairs participated on Sunday 20th of March 2016, within the federal authorities in the State, with several events and activities to make customers’ happy and put positivity, delight and joy into their hearts, especially in the Customer Service Centers in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, in affirmation of its vision and strategy on the importance of happy customers and providing services to them with less effort, cost and time, and in participation with the international community, which celebrates on this day (March 20th) each year the International Happiness Day, adopted by the United Nations, as well as the participation with federal authorities that celebrates it within the UAE Government Service Program which launched the hash tag #internationalHappinessDay, stressing the importance of the customers being happy upon completion of their applications. And his Highness Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, announced in February 2016 the establishment of a Ministry of Happiness, the primary task of harmonizing all State plans, programs and policies to achieve a happier society, where Sheikh Mohammed appointed her Excellency Ohood Al Roumi Minister of State for Happiness. And the United Arab Emirates came first in the Middle East and North Africa, and ranked 28th international as the happiest people in the “World Happiness Report 2016”, issued by the international initiative of the Sustainable Development Solutions Network, and Earth Institute of Colombia University, ahead of France, Thailand, Spain and Japan, achieving Ad 6.597 points in the index, which is composed of several elements, including per capita income, social support, average ages, social freedom, and rates of social generosity.
