Corresponding
with the World Youth Day, the Ministry of Education organized a brainstorming
session at the headquarters of the Arab Youth Center in Abu Dhabi, which
targets school students, university students, teachers and employees of the
Ministry of Education under the title of “Safe Spaces for Youth”.
This
comes within the framework of the Ministry of Education's plan to involve youth
in developing educational strategies that contribute to the development of
their abilities, give them an opportunity to express their ideas regarding
educational issues, and enable them to work on benefiting from them on the
ground.
The
session was attended by Her Excellency Khulood Al Qassimi, Assistant
Undersecretary for the Supervision Sector and His Excellency Dr. Hamad Al Yahyaei,
Assistant Undersecretary for the Curriculum and Evaluation Sector, as well as a
number of school and university students, teachers and Ministry staff.
The
brainstorming session will discuss several important axes that support the UAE’s
efforts to empower youth through education in order for them to take future
leading roles that will benefit the society and the country. These include
continuous education, stimulating educational environment, modern teaching
methods, positive work environment, multi-skilled employee, knowledge
management, selecting academic disciplines, and the skills of the Emirati
school students and other topics.
The
participants were divided into several groups. Each group discussed a specific axis
and worked on formulating ideas and initiatives that would support its consolidation
in the educational environment. The initiatives and recommendations will be submitted
to decision makers, who will work on its implementation throughout the year.
