Forces, the third edition of the National Festival of Science, Technology and
Innovation will kick off in Dubai Festival Arena on January 31st and
will continue till February 4th.
The annual event, which is organized by the Ministry of Education,
is an important pillar for consolidating the ministry's educational vision to offer
innovative and pioneering education for skilled generations in line with the UAE’s
orientations and UAE Vision 2021,
which focuses on rendering innovation a fundamental feature of the UAE society.
As many as 1,665 male and female students are participating in the
festival, which is aimed at achieving a set of educational objectives supported
by selected programs, activities and events to firmly establish innovation as a
life-style. Some 912 innovative projects produced by UAE school students will
be launched during the festival.
In a bid to raise the ceiling of its orientations, the ministry
expanded its targets by increasing the number of projects likely to win the festival’s
competition to 200 projects. The most extraordinary of these projects will be selected
for display at Qasr Al Bahr in Abu Dhabi within the activities of the National Science
Week 2019 with a view to motivating students, increasing their interest in
gaining knowledge, improving their academic performance and enabling them to
participate in dedicated international exhibitions and forums.
The festival, which is is largely supported by both government
entities and institutions and private establishments, will see the
participation of an elite group of official speakers including innovation
pioneers from all over the world.
Keeping pace with the wise leadership’s aspirations and
orientations aimed at empowering the generations in the fields of science,
technology and innovation, these being a crucial engine for the progress of
societies and a stepping stone to the era of knowledge-based economy, the
festival will be an opportunity for students to display their innovative ideas
and projects before the UAE competent entities and hence develop their ideas
and elevate their ambitions, which the UAE relies on to move forward in the
