The Ministry of Education is participating in the GITEX Exhibition,
which is scheduled to start Sunday at the Dubai World Trade Center. The
Ministry is preparing to launch a range of smart services in line with the
Ministry's plans to shift to smart education through the creation of an
educational environment with smart applications that contribute to the
development of the educational system.
The participation of the Ministry of Education at GITEX aims
to identify the latest technological tools and utilizing them in the transition
to smart education, and to achieve the aspirations of the leadership in the
field of modern and pioneering education that keeps pace with the future and
its requirements. The Ministry cooperates with well-known local and
international organizations in the field of educational technology, and
constantly reviews the pioneering experiences in the field of smart education.
H.E. Engineer Abdul Rahman Al Hammadi, Deputy of the
Ministry of Education for Supervision and Services, confirmed that the Ministry
of Education has made many steps in its way to transition to the smart
education system, and through its partners to establish solid foundations in smart
learning, by the training of cadres in educational field on how to use smart
technologies and enhance them in the processes of teaching and learning, in
addition the Ministry has completed the establishment of infrastructure in all
its schools through the provision of the latest technical equipment.
During its participation in the Exhibition, the Ministry
will review a group of innovative smart services that will contribute in
improving and upgrading learning environments, including "Al Diwan
Initiative", which allows teachers and students in public schools to view
the educational curricula electronically on their computers and interact with
them smoothly, as well as downloading various electronic books of those
available for all subjects, accessible anytime and anywhere. This initiative is
considered to be another step in the development, improvement and upgrading of
education in the country.
His Excellency said that the Ministry will launch a smart
training platform for teachers to provide them with smart training via the
Internet. The platform will contribute to the exchange of experiences among the
cadres of the field of education and will give the teacher a certificate at the
end of training from the concerned authorities in the Ministry. Moreover, the
Ministry will launch the application of "SIS" on smart phones, which allows
parents of students to monitor their children and identify the grades,
attendance, absence and the behavior of students.
The Ministry's platform at the Exhibition will organize a
special exhibition for students to implement their own innovative projects through
using the "Innovation Bag" that will help them translate their
projects and ideas on the ground.
