The Ministry of Education entered into a memorandum of
Understanding with the Mohammad Bin Rashid Knowledge Foundation aiming to
enrich the electronic contents provided by the Ministry through the “Darfa”
interactive platform and to enhance the Ministry’s electronic library with a
set of valuable publications to develop student’s knowledge.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed yesterday
at the Ministry’s pavilion within the Sharjah International Book Fair by H.E.
Hussain Al Hammadi, Minister of Education and H.E Jamal Bin Huwaireb, CEO of
the Mohammad Bin Rashid Knowledge Foundation, in the presence of a number of
leaders from the Ministry of Education.
The MOU aims to strengthen the cooperation between
both parties to optimize the benefit of the “Darfa” interactive reading platform
and to expand and support it on both local and Arabic level. The MOU also seeks
to motivate creative thinking in reading and developing exceptional projects
related to reading, in order to link the Ministry’s reading initiatives with
international ones.
Pursuant to the MOU, the Mohammad Bin Rashid Knowledge
Foundation commits to provide technical support, that will guarantee the
provision of the best technological services and facilities to the Ministry of
Education to ensure optimal benefit of the “Darfa” electronic platform, and
continuous updating and support of all applications relating thereto.
The “Darfa” interactive platform provides textbooks
for students in addition to culturally enhancing story contents. The platform interacts with students through
posing questions related to available stories and enables teachers to Be
Understanding the extent of students’ interaction with available stories and
their enthusiasm towards reading and completing their homework. The platform
aims at improving students’ reading and learning skills by facilitating easy
access to electronic books at any time and from anywhere.
In this context, H.E Hussain Al Hammadi, Minister of
Education, praised the efforts made by the Mohammad Bin Rashid Knowledge
Foundation which aim at providing an ideal and modern educational environment
in line with the latest technical developments in the education field, and this
will positively reflect on all efforts exerted for the development of the
educational system in the State.
His Excellency stated that the Ministry of Education
is continuously working on forming strategic partnerships with various
prominent educational institutions, such as the Mohammad Bin Rashid Knowledge
Foundation which has achieved noticeable contributions in the reading patterns
on both a local and Arabic level. His
Excellency noted that the Ministry of Education seeks to reinforce its
relationships and partnerships for the achievement of its goals in creating a
modern educational environment to build a knowledge society and to provide
students with information and skills to meet future demands.
H.E Jamal Bin Huwaireb, CEO of the Mohammad Bin Rashid
Knowledge Foundation, expressed the Foundation’s eagerness to strengthen joint
cooperation with the Ministry of Education for the creation of creative
initiatives and projects that support the spread and production of knowledge
and that invest in modern technology in the field of digital publishing to
serve different groups of society and provide advanced information platforms
that avail rapid and simple access to information and books from any place and
at any time, and this matter conforms to the Foundation’s strategic goals
focused at reinforcing the status of Dubai and UAE on the Arabian knowledge map
through sponsorship of education programs, support of research and the
development of entrepreneurship.
His Excellency added “The ((Darfa”)) interactive
platform represents a qualitative addition to the series of joint projects and
initiatives between the Foundation and the Ministry, and is also in line with
the set of advanced interactive platforms the Foundation seeks to develop with
its strategic partners, noting that these will support student’s performance
and will afford them with a voluminous number of Arabic books and stories that
will preserve the Arabian culture and uphold its place among other cultures and
civilizations”.
