The
Ministry of Education (MoE) has participated in the fifth meeting of the joint
working group between the GCC states and the Kingdom of Jordan in the field of
education. The meeting was held in the capital Amman, from August 23 to 25. His
Excellency Dr. Hassan Al-Muhairi, Assistant Undersecretary for Licensing and
Quality Sector, headed the MoE delegation, which included Hamdan Al-Shukaili,
Director of Education Research and Data Center, and Khawatam Al-Rashidi, from the
Department of Education and International Cooperation.
The
meeting aimed to approve the implementation program of the joint action plan
for the years 2023-2027, discuss many areas of cooperation, share expertise and
experiences in order to improve and further develop the educational process in
the brotherly countries, intensify the efforts to implement the action plans, and
share visions on developing education and strategic planning.
H.E. Dr. Hassan Al-Muhairi stressed the MoE’s
keenness on highlighting, in an integrated manner, the country’s efforts to
develop education and consolidate the sustainability of its quality, in line
with the best practices and international standards. He added that the aim was to
achieve the national objectives of comprehensive development and
knowledge-based economy, in line with the future strategies and global
competitiveness in different areas in the next 50 years.
H.E. said
that the fifth meeting of the joint working group between the GCC states and
Jordan highlighted the deeply rooted, historical ties between them,
particularly in the field of education, and established a strong framework for communication,
exchanging expertise, sharing visions, and establishing joint-cooperation and
integrated partnerships with brotherly and friendly countries. He explained
that the aim was to build a knowledge-based society that promoted
development and civilizationa.
H.E. Al-Muhairi thanked H.E. Dr. Wajih Owais,
Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the Kingdom of Jordan, for
the sincere efforts to organize the meeting, ensure its success, and achieve
its objectives. He added that this would serve the interests of the peoples of GCC
states and Jordan in all areas of education.
