Sheikh Dr. Ammar bin Nasser
Al Mualla, Education & Technology Sciences Attaché of the UAE in Egypt and
Non-resident Attaché of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, has discussed joint cooperation, ways to boost relations with Jordan
in the field of education, and the vision of the MoE to develop the strategy of eeducation & technology sciences attachés and their educational offices around the
world.
Al
Mualla began his visit in the capital Amman with a meeting with His Excellency
Ahmed Ali Al-Blooshi, UAE Ambassador to Jordan, in the presence of Khaled Ali
Al-Nuaimi, Head of Support Services, Consular Affairs, and Citizens Services
Department, and Iman Ali Al-Hosani, Technical Attaché at the Education & Technology
Science Attaché in Egypt.
The meeting discussed the study of the management of the Office of Education
& Technology Science in Amman, the directives of the MoE to develop
education attachés and offices, mechanisms of cooperation with higher education
institutions and bodies, development of services provided to Emirati students
studying in Jordan. The meeting also discussed the executive program for
educational cooperation between the UAE and Jordan for the years 2020, 2021, 2022.
Al-Blooshi and Al-Mualla have also met a number of Emirati citizens studying in
Jordan to update them on the MoE’s vision to develop Education & Technology Sciences Attachés.
On the other hand, Al
Mualla has discussed with His Excellency Dr. Wajih Mousa Oweis, Jordanian Minister
of Higher Education and Scientific Research, boosting relations in the field of
higher education, universities, attachés, and educational institutions. They also discussed UAE’s experience in developing
academic work and specialized programs, such as artificial intelligence,
universities, and specializations, according to international standards. They
also went through UAE’s public and university education and UAE's experience in
advanced technology and exchange of knowledge, to keep pace with digital transformation
and modern technology.
The two parties agreed to expedite the procedures for signing the cooperation
protocol of the Executive Program for Educational Cooperation between the UAE
and Jordan for the years 2020, 2021, 2022. The two parties also agreed to
explore new areas for cooperation in the coming period, transfer knowledge, and
exchange practices and national tests, and other useful projects between the
two parties, such as exchanging students and professors.
Al-Mualla
discussed with Mr. Prof. Nathir Obeidat, President of the University of Jordan,
Prof. Islam Massad, President of Al-Yarmouk
University, Prof. Sari Hamdan Ghanima, President of Al-Ahliyya Amman University
(AAU), and Dr. Thafer Assaraira, Chairman of the Board of Accreditation and
Quality Assurance Commission for Higher Education Institutions, the ways of
enhancing cooperation between Emirati educational institutions and educational
and information technology institutions. They also discussed expanding future
projects and developing the services offered by Emirati higher education
institutions.
For
her part, Iman Al-Hosani discussed with Prof. Mashhoor Al-Refai, President of Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT) the ways to
boost academic and scientific cooperation between the university, Royal Scientific Society, and Emirati
universities.
At the end of the visit,
Al-Mualla visted the Emirati-Jordanian camp for Syrian refugees, Mrajeeb Al-Fhood,
in Zarqaa Province. He was briefed on the various, distinguished services the
camp’s management offered and the situation of advanced and digital education,
in particular the digital school the UAE had established recently for Syrian
students.
