The Ministry of Education completes distribution of 1,977,050 school textbooks
Students prepare to begin the second school semester tomorrow after the Ministry of Education completed all preparations to receive them on their first school day, whereby the Ministry announced it has finished distributing 1,977,050 textbooks among various government schools, in accordance with a new mechanism followed by the Ministry to ensure availability of books in school warehouses before the beginning of the first school day.
The Ministry said it had completed the distribution of school books, which varied between 142 textbooks, among schools within a specific timeframe designated by the Ministry in coordination with various schools in the State and book printing presses, in order to reduce time and effort and ensure availability of textbooks before the start of the school semester.
The Ministry clarified that it has approved a new mechanism for distribution of textbooks, whereby schools identify the required textbooks and then send them electronically to those presses designated by the Ministry for this purpose. This comes after the Ministry had assigned a special smart application which schools can use to communicate with presses, under the supervision of the Ministry. This will enable them to obtain textbooks directly without having to store the same at the Ministry’s warehouses and subsequently distribute them around schools as was the case in the past.
The Ministry had set a specific timeframe for the distribution of textbooks to all schools under its umbrella, ensuring their availability at school warehouses before the start of the first day of the second semester, to enable school administrations to distribute the same immediately to students on their first day.
The Ministry indicated that it had proceeded, since the beginning of last week, with distribution of textbooks around schools. Distribution was done on a daily basis throughout the week to 80 schools in different Emirates until accomplishment of the process last Friday.
The Ministry issued a list with school names to be provided with textbooks. The distribution process was organized in accordance with a precise time and geographical plan that ensured the availability of textbooks before the beginning of the second semester. The Ministry also made it possible for schools to receive textbooks directly from printing presses after they were approved for printing by the competent committees at the Ministry.
