The Mohammed bin Rashid Award for Smart Learning for Performance
Excellence has announced the winners of the first session during a ceremony
organized by the Ministry of Education in the presence of the winners, a number
of cadres from the educational field and those interested.
The Award in its current session targets teachers and school
principals, where five teachers from the teachers’ category won, namely:
Sheikha Al Ghafli from Falaj Al Mualla School in the first place, and in the
second place; Amal Al Nuaimi from Al Rayada School, and in third place Aisha Al
Mallahi from the Village School, and the fourth place; Abdul Salam Zainal from
Al Majd Model School, and in the fifth place; Drar Hussain Attiya Abuqediri
from Rashid bin Saeed for primary and secondary education. On the other hand, five school principals won in the
category assigned to them; the first place was for Maryam Sultan from Mziraa
school, the second place was for Sheikha Amna Abdullah Hamad Al Sharqi from
Madab School, the third place was for Nadia Darwish Abdullah from the village
school, and the fourth place was for Sabihah Delmuk from Al Nouf School, while
the fifth place was for Mariam Al Hassani from Al Raheeb School.
The Award aims to motivate the target audiences to adopt the
best practices and modern teaching methods within the UAE school in line with
its aspirations to lay the foundation for a modern educational system that
enables faculty members to benefit from modern learning techniques and to use
them effectively in teaching and learning processes. It also aims to achieve
the highest levels of electronic maturity through the integration of technology
at all levels of the educational process with the participation of everyone. In
addition to developing the school leaders’ capabilities through their
participation in the competition and creating a spirit of honest competition
between the school leaders, as well as benefiting from the experiences of
successful leaders. It also aims to contribute to the development of the
educational sector, to improve teachers' performance, to spread the concepts of
smart learning, to disseminate best practices, to ensure the application of the
most effective methods in the educational sector, and to encourage and motivate
teachers to innovate, excel, develop themselves and promote cooperation between
them.
The Award has specific conditions and criteria for each
category. In the category of school principals, the principal must be employed
in a public school, and he/she should provide a creative and innovative idea for
integrating smart learning tools into the school's learning processes and to be
proficient in using smart learning programs in everyday school leadership and
operations. The school principal must have a good or higher level in the
leadership standard of the transition framework criteria. He/she should also
provide innovative solutions for solving technical problems in the school environment
and be aware of the use of smart learning tools levels within the classroom in
his/her school through smart learning applications and measurement of
electronic maturity levels.
The Award also put special conditions for the teachers’ category;
the teacher must work in a public school in the UAE and for all subjects. The
teacher must provide an innovative idea in the field of smart learning, and
master using smart learning programs to ensure that the students achieve the
aspired benefits. Also, the teacher should possess the ability to share his/her
unique practices with the rest of the teachers inside and outside of school and
in professional learning communities, and that the teacher must reach the
empowerment level in the electronic maturity model in his assessment of his
lessons.
New categories
The Award also aims to add new categories during the next
session, as it has introduced the following new categories: the parents’
category, distinguished schools’ category, curriculum management category, and
another category for students, which is divided into two: distinguished student category and collaborative project category.
This aims to activate the smart learning tools in various components of the
school community and intensify efforts to enhance the smart learning efforts in
the UAE school.
