Swiss Science Center “Technorama” and Matthew Savag “Director of the
International Society School in Jordan”. They discussed the importance of taking
care of the school environment which is the most important shelter throughout
the student trip for continuing the success and creativity.
The First
Session
Armen Daf: The
challenging school environment motivates the students to discover their capabilities.
Dr. Armen Daf has
stressed during his lecture that the importance of the availability of school environment
full of challenges for students as a goal in order to be able to draw the
attention of the students, and therefore direct their thinking in accordance
with the information obtained which contributes to their devotion of self- learning
concept, and the continuity of research eagerness and obtaining the knowledge
in various tracks of their academic process.
Daf has clarified
that the mission of the teacher is one of the most difficult missions due to
his dealing with brains which are still fresh. Therefore, the teacher has the
responsibility to refine these brains and direct them through dealing with them
ideally and taking them into various knowledgeable horizons, imitating their
interests first of all, and answering their queries. He has added that no
teacher can control the brains of the students. All he can do is to stimulate
the imagination of the students and inspire them by providing information and
positive impressions about every student individually.
Daf has
stressed on the importance of making strong links between the students and the teachers,
in order to enable the students to be extrovert towards the learning idea. This
could be achieved through what is known as the exchange of concepts by conducting
experiments before the students involving results different from what is in the
mind of the students. This would motivate them to continue gaining the
knowledge and recognition of other experiences which open their perceptions for
new concepts.
Daf has concluded
his lecture with the necessity to ensure the importance of assisting the
students to explore themselves and their capabilities and to give them the
opportunity to express themselves and listening to them in order to know what
they may have suffered of psychological or social implications which could be
reflected negatively on their academic, scientific and behavior performance.
The Second
Session
Matthew Savag:
A torch of curiosity between the students is the basis for their learning
continuity.
In his lecture,
Matthew Savag has touched on the emotional health of the students and the
necessity to treat all their negative ideas, which they gathered about
themselves, as a basis for the start of their learning process, and raising
them healthily because this would help in creating active links between the
teachers and the students, reflected on how they deal with various affairs
which the school environments are full of.
Savag has clarified
that every child born has a torch of curiosity. It is our duty to enrich that
torch and maintain it, because it is considered the main entrance for
interaction with the knowledge in all of the learning stages, indicating that
the learning is consisted of different positive behaviors, which the educators
must convince the students with, and to adopt them in order to enable the
students benefiting of them in their professional and scientific lives.
