Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Tahnoon bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in the Eastern Region, Sheikh Hazza Bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Undersecretary of the Diwan of the Ruler's Representative in the Eastern Region, opened recently at the Crescent building in the University the 3rd “International Conference on Geophysics Engineering” and accompanying exhibition, in coordination with the Al Ain Municipality, and the American Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG) the scientific partner of the Conference, in the presence of his Excellency Mattar Al Nuaimi, Director General of the Department of Municipal Affairs in Al Ain Municipality, and his Excellency Dr. Ghaleb Alhadrami Deputy Vice Chancellor for Research and Graduate Studies. The Conference is one of the most important conferences on infrastructure development and sustainable development, focusing on the geophysical research of all projects that are implemented in the State, with 120 research papers from 36 countries participating, plus 13 researches presented by UAE University, and 36 researches by local institutions, it lasts for four days. Dr. Ghaleb Alhadrami welcomed the Conference guests, and transferred to them the greetings of his Excellency Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Chancellor of UAE University, and invited them to effective cooperation with the University and Al Ain Municipality in scientific research of Engineering Geophysics, to reinforce the strategic vision of the University in the knowledge and science transfer for community service and excellence at the regional and international levels, saying: "the role of the University comes as a research authority interested in studies and to contribute to providing advice in the field of Geophysics, it always seeks to provide all that contributes to development and strengthening of sustainable development.”
