HE Sheikh Nahayan Bin Mabarak Al-Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, signed a memorandum of understanding with HE Zhanseit K. Tuimebayev, Minister of Education and Science in the Republic of Kazakhstan, to promote cooperation between the two countries in the domains of higher education and scientific research.
H.E Sheikh Nahyan received the Kazakh Minister of Education during his current visit to the United Arab Emirates, praising the relations between the two friendly countries. During his meeting with the Kazakh guest, His Excellency confirmed that this agreement aimed at promoting the cultural and scientific research exchange between the two countries. He pointed out that the UAE is focused on developing its young manpower by dispatching many of its university students to study and pursue their higher education in the world’s finest universities abroad, so that they benefit from the expertise of these universities.
Tuimebayev explained that the percentage of education in his country is 100% and that Kazakhstan has more than 140 universities, over 850 technological and technical colleges and institutes and over 7800 schools. Yesterday afternoon, the UAE University also signed a memorandum of understanding on the educational and academic cooperation with the Karaganda State University of Technology in Kazakhstan, in presence of the Kazakh Minister of Higher Education and the Kazakh Ambassador to the UAE. Dr. Abdullah Al-Khanbashi, Vice-Chancellor of the UAE University, welcomed the Kazakh Minister of Higher Education and his accompanying delegation, who are visiting the UAE in the context of the mutual cooperation between the two countries.
A memorandum of understanding was signed by the two universities in view of this cooperation and on the directions of HE Sheikh Nahayan Bin Mabarak Al-Nahyan, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Chancellor of the UAE University. The MOU was signed by Al-Khanbashi, on behalf of the UAE University, and by M. Ghazaliv, the Chancellor of the Karaganda State University of Technology in Kazakhstan, on behalf of the Kazakh party. The MOU calls for widening cooperation horizons in the domain of higher education, Master’s degree and PhD, exchanging visits between the faculty members of both universities and conducting common researches, raising the educational qualification level of Master’s and PhD students in the specializations that will be put forth in coordination between the two universities, benefiting from the educational expertise and developing teaching methods through the use of advanced technologies and organizing seminars, conferences and symposiums. The Chancellor of the Karaganda State University of technology in Kazakhstan stated that he was pleased with this agreement that made possible the opening of wide horizons of cooperation to serve the students and faculty of both universities.
