Mohammed Bin Rashid Program Smart Learning,
in the collaboration with the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) and
the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), has hosted yesterday the Arab
Regional Training Program for National Smart Learning Strategies in the
Ministry of Education headquarters, in presence of six regional and Arab
countries representatives.
The program aims to provide assistance and
advice to countries wishing to develop national strategies and policies in the
field of smart learning, of which the UAE has become a regional and international
Smart Learning Center.
The two-days training program is an
implementation of the third phase of an agreement signed by Mohammed bin Rashid
Smart Learning Program during SAMENA Summit last year. The agreement provides for
the preparation and organization of four onsite and online workshops, during
2016 and 2017, to raise awareness and build capacities on national policies and
implementation strategies of Smart Learning, as well as to encouraging and
suggesting best practices in the field of Smart Learning according to the principals of Mohammed bin Rashid
Intelligent Learning Program to achieve this vision.
During the workshop, the Advisor Mr. Ali Al
Yafei presented the vision of the UAE in
the integration of information technology and communication in education
through a good mechanism that includes focusing on the student and developing
his technical skills for a better future; by building the efficiency of the
school leaders in the Smart
Learning transition. He explained that the UAE experience in implementing
the framework of e-maturation has been developed as a guide for schools to
identify the success criteria and to extent their progress over the next three
years. The presentation also includes the 2021 Vision and the plan set by the
Ministry of Education to achieve this vision.
The program aims to build capacities of Decision-makers
in participating countries, who are involved in the planning and implementation
of national Smart Learning initiatives, in the ministries of education in their
countries, at the level of undersectrytaries and leaders, as well as ministries
of Information and Communication Technology in the Arab region or its
equivalent, by paticipating in the pioneer experience of Mohammed Bin Rashid
Program for Smart Learning in the region. This is not the first time that the
UAE has shared its leading experience in smart learning regionally and
globally. “The Global Alliance for Smart Education” has hosted the Ministry of
Education in its seventh annual seminar, held last October in Washinton. The
event was attended by more than 300 guests and 33 countries. The UAE was
selected to present its unique experience of transforming UAE schools into
smart learning.
