The Arab Ministers of Education participating in the Global
Education Forum and the Global Educational Supplies and Solutions Exhibition (GESS
2019), have affirmed that the Fourth Industrial Revolution has become the
world’s driving force of development and one of the most significant challenges
facing the Arab countries in terms of creating a skilled and educated
generation capable of competing and keeping pace with the needs of this
revolution. This necessitates the efforts to develop sustainable education to
be supported and the role of technology in the teaching and learning processes
to be enhanced, they added.
The ministers said so during the opening ceremony of the 12th
edition of the Global Education Forum and the GESS 2019, organized by the
Ministry of Education and held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh
Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE
and Ruler of Dubai, may Allah protect him, between February 26th and
28th at the Dubai World Trade Center. The forum, held under the
theme ‘Empathy: Inspire, Empower, Flourish’ is attended by and sees the
participation of a group of education experts, officials and pioneers from inside
and outside the UAE.
The forum reflects the Ministry of Education’s keenness on benefiting
from the various pioneering educational experiences worldwide and its efforts
to keep pace with the latest technological developments in the field of
education with a view to developing the UAE’s education system in line with the
aspirations of the wise leadership to move to the era of knowledge-based
economy.
As many as 550 exhibitors from 40 countries are participating in
the exhibition, during which some 250 accredited courses in all
education-related fields will be held. In addition, some 100 world-reputed
education experts and specialists are giving keynotes that will enrich the
experience of the participants and familiarize them with the latest education
updates in light of the accelerated developments in the field of education
technology.
The agenda of the forum includes numerous rich programs, workshops
and training courses, which will discuss the latest trends of modern education
and the reflections of technology on education. The main sessions, which will
be attended by more than nine key speakers of successful educational
experiences from around the world, will have an educational content that will
address all vital aspects related to modern education.
The courses and workshops held in the exhibition will address
several major themes under which several sub-workshops will be organized
including future education and educational neuroscience, which constitutes an
essential tool in today's classrooms. The workshops held under this stream will
outline the latest international research studies to help teachers learn how to
support, motivate and inspire their students to achieve the best results through
neuro-linguistic programming and rules of influence. The workshops held under
the leadership stream will target the leaders of the education sector from the
kindergarten stage to higher education who will learn about the challenges
faced by leaders of educational institutions as well as the qualities required
to make a good leader and the skills required to advance in senior positions.
While the virtual reality experience workshops outline the most prominent
augmented reality technologies used in the educational fields, the ‘Innovation Platform’
stream deals with the latest innovations in the teacher-oriented products and
services. The ministry has also introduced the ‘Future Leaders’ stream, a new
theme for this edition of the exhibition through which educational cadres are
trained in how to lead educational institutions by acquiring useful skills and consolidated
insights into the techniques and skills essential to leaders.
Diverse and exciting activities will be held in the current edition
of the forum. These activities will focus on developing the skills of the
teachers and educators visiting the exhibition. In addition, marvelous musical
shows and dramatic performances will be presented by school students in the
evening sessions of the exhibition. Dedicated certificates for attending the
main sessions will be also awarded.
