H.E. Hussain bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi, Minister of Education, called for revisiting the educational systems in the Arab world to enable the societies of such countries to transform to the knowledge-based economy through the formulation of interactive modern educational systems capable of making the difference desired.
His statement came during His Excellency's participation in the opening ceremony of the 2nd Regional Arab Meeting organized by Regional Center for Educational Planning in collaboration with UNESCO in Roda Al Bustan Hotel Dubai yesterday with the participation of 16 Arab countries and over 100 professionals in education from Gulf and Arab states to discuss the fourth goal of the Sustainable Development Goals which is Education 2030.
H.E. Hussain bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi, stressed the importance of investing in education to make a qualitative leap in the Arab world, underlining the importance of shaping the future by working on providing students with high-quality skills that enable them to possess the language of their era.
His Excellency explained that education is the precise recipe to bring back the Cultural Renaissance to our Arab world. We have to work on educational systems that keep pace of the current technological development and take advantage of it to reproduce knowledge and present it to current and coming generation.
On her part, Her Excellency Jameela bint Salem Al Muhairi, Minister of State for Public Education, stressed that the UAE has placed education at the core of its priorities and founded an educational system based on competitiveness and modernity to meet the directives of the wise leadership for making a qualitative leap in the educational sector to transform into the knowledge-based economy according to firm scientific foundations built on knowledge, research and analysis.
Her Excellency Jameela Al Muhairi, explained that the fourth goal of the sustainable development system which is Education is linked closely to relevant national and international challenges as the goal indicates a humane vision for education and development based on human rights, dignity, social justice and cultural diversity. Education is a primary right of the human rights and forms the basis for ensuring the achievement of other rights, in addition that education plays a pivotal role in achieving peace and human prosperity in all areas.
