Overview of Child Protection Mechanism in Educational Institutions:
- The Ministry of Education is implementing child protection mechanisms in educational institutions in accordance with Federal Law No. (3) of 2016 and its regulations. These measures ensure that children's rights, particularly their right to education and protection, are upheld as stated in the law. The goal is to safeguard children from all forms of abuse, neglect, discrimination and exploitation, whether by individuals in positions of authority or institutions responsible for their care.
- In cooperation with its partners, the Ministry works to provide a safe and supportive school environment where children feel protected from threats to their well-being, physical health or mental state. To this end, the Ministry has established a Child Protection Department within the Business Continuity Centre, which is responsible for legislative and strategic matters. Additionally, Child Protection Units operate within the School Operations Sector in both Abu Dhabi and Dubai and the Northern Emirates.
-
Abu Dhabi Unit – Handles abuse reports within the emirate.
-
Dubai & Northern Emirates Unit – Manages cases in Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al-Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah.
