The National Qualifications Center (NQC) of the Ministry of Education (MoE) issued a certificate of accreditation to the National Institute for Health Specialties (NIHS), after the Institute had fulfilled the technical requirements and conditions for accreditation established by the NQC. The Institute will in turn offer and accredit professional qualifications, will monitor the accredited and registered training institutions, and will ensure the quality of the professional qualifications and certificates.

The NQC aims to develop a comprehensive system of qualifications for the UAE, apply, and develop it. This will enhance the quality of managing the scientific standards and qualifications, offer services that comply with global efficiency standards, encourage innovation in the work environment, and keep pace with the best international practices in the field of institutional accreditation. This also comes in line with the vision of the wise leadership of preparing and qualifying distinguished national competencies in all specialties.

Prof. Dr. Mohamed Yousif Baniyas, Higher Education Advisor, Director of NQC, said that the NQC aimed to develop the labor market and training programs to enhance the national qualifications, based on the latest professional standards provided by the various sectors. He added that this would support the human and social development programs and achieve sustainable development and prosperity and national achievements in all fields.

Dr. Mohammed Al Houqani, NIHS Secretary General, said that cooperation with the NQC enhanced the development of professional performance in the field of healthcare, expansion of medical specialties, and cooperation with universities to develop the students' practical capabilities. He added that this would achieve the NIHS's strategy commensurate with the plans of the country in the next 50 years, through applying the best approved standards and international practices, to ensure the quality and alignment with the needs of the labor market, according to clear visions and strategies that reflected the prospects for development. He explained that this would eventually improve the quality of specialized and professional services and programs.
