Kids’ Diploma program
The Ministry of Education (MoE) has launched the Kids'
Diploma program with the aim of bringing the competency of students between
grade 1 and grade 7 to a higher level in Arabic language and mathematics as
part of its skill and academic activities System for 2020. The program, which
has attracted 500 students, aims to complete the development of students in the
aforementioned subjects, enabling them to continue their education according to
methodological bases and catch up on the cognitive and performance skills they
have missed in the subjects of mathematics and Arabic language.
The program simulates the concept of sustainable education
and introduces the same sciences and knowledge received by students during
regular study times in different forms in terms of time and space.
Simultaneously, the smart learning system is adopted and a continuous
evaluation system is prepared that monitors how far the students enrolled in
the program benefit from the advanced educational options that the program
provides according to an educational methodology aimed at bridging the
students' knowledge gap in the two aforementioned subjects.
7,000 students
participate in virtual summer enrichment camp
The virtual summer enrichment camp has
kicked off with the participation of more than 7,000 students. The participants
had significant interaction, thanks to the camp’s various enrichment programs
that bring students’ knowledge and life skills to higher levels in more than
one field. The Ministry of Education (MoE) is carrying out the camp in co-operation
and partnership with 50 federal and local government entities. The camp, which
continues until August 13th, targets the Emirati School students in
all educational stages and cycles.
The camp aims at exploiting the summer
vacation in helping students acquire life and creative skills and making use of
UAE energies and creative talents with the aim of empowering the rest members of
the society in various fields and trying new skills and arts by linking them
with scientific, practical and educational concepts. The camp is also aimed at
providing volunteering opportunities for students of all ages and nationalities
in various specialized fields with the aim of engaging them in various
educational initiatives. Besides, the camp is aimed at consolidating the social
responsibility concept, engaging all parties in implementing programs, each
according to its field of specialization, providing them with appropriate
support to play their roles in an effective and more positive manner, creating
a spirit of experience and learning among all members of society and enabling
them to discover their talents and skills.
The camp offers more than 580 workshops
with the participation of 189 trainers in the various fields emulated by the
camp including health, fitness, technology, science, language, rhetoric, culture,
arts and life skills. In addition to the previous fields, the MoE is implementing
4 general streams tracks such as the certified cultural tour guide program,
which enables members to obtain an approved license in co-operation with the Etihad
Museum and the culture of tolerance stream to promote values and coexistence
in co-operation with the Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence. Another stream is
about child law culture titled Sword of Champion, while the last stream revolves
around healthy food in co-operation with the Ministry of Health and Prevention.
Distance learning Initiative
The Ministry
of Education (MoE) has applied the distance learning system, targeting all
students of UAE schools and higher education institutions. The system is aimed
at ensuring uninterrupted education by relying on smart learning and providing
digital platforms that offer valuable education materials and curricula for all
students.
The system is
based on technology, smart learning and unique methods with similar roles,
responsibilities and tasks. As a distinctive
feature, the system keeps pace with modern education and harnesses technology
and education, academic and electronic resources to serve students away from
any spatial or temporal obstacles imposed by the new developments that may
prevent the continuation of the normal learning process within classrooms.
The distance
learning system is the fruit of years of work to make quantum leaps in the
education system under the directives of the wise leadership. It is an
educational vision that seeks to make the Emirati School at the forefront,
thanks to its diverse, distinctive and effective learning environments and
modern practices that serve the elements of the educational process and provide
a fertile environment for continuing life-long learning.
applying
smart learning in schools and higher education institutions is a safety valve
for the continuity of education in the event of any developments, as was the
case with the outbreak of COVID-19.
By this
philosophy, the MoE aims at achieving the country's future agenda and centennial
2071 and investing in technological enablers that have become a government and
national approach to serve the society and achieve the desired development, thereby
adding to the capabilities and outputs of the Emirati School in light of the
accelerating pace of learning-based global competitiveness
100 students participate in
‘Diplomacy Stream’
As
part of the National Ambassadors programme 'Estia'dad', as many as 100 students of
government and private schools have participated in this year’s ‘Diplomacy
Stream’. The students are joining a two-week virtual summer training program
for 2020 where they will be trained by a group of Emirati School teachers who
have been trained in the skills of diplomacy and Model United Nations.
Specialized
student clubs have been established to train the students in their schools and
speakers from the Emirates Diplomatic Academy have also been hosted. The Ministry of Education has been
implementing this program through various sessions that simulate basic
diplomacy tools such as research, discourse-building and Model United Nations.
In addition, a group of experts in this field have been recruited to provide
the skillful content required for this stream. Since its launch, the program
has attracted a large number of students in view of its importance for enabling
students to acquire the skills necessary for university and future studies.
