MOHESR took steps towards implementing its new strategy

The Centre of Excellence for Applied Research and Training, subsidiary of the Higher Colleges of Technology, organized yesterday a workshop to spread the culture of excellence and train cadres. Dr. Said Hamad Al-Hassani, the Undersecretary at the Ministry, spoke to the efforts made towards implementing the standards of the Sheikh Khalifa Excellence in Government Performance sample while Counselor Dr. Amjad Ghanem gave a presentation of the sample. Yumna Hamad Badwa put forth the responsibilities of the excellence team at the Ministry.

Then, Seif Rashid Al-Mazroui, the Assistant Undersecretary for Scientific Research Affairs presented a framework for the Ministry’s main plan to implement the standards of the example of excellence. Afterwards, the lecturers answered the questions and inquiries of the audience and a questionnaire was distributed among the attendants of the workshop.

 

 
 

The latter recommended the preparation of comprehensive and correlated work procedure guides at the Ministry by using the operations methodology according to the specialized international operations under the Sheikh Khalifa Excellence in Government Performance example and adopting an effective methodology to follow up the implementation of the strategic plan, where each department will plan, execute and follow up its relative part of the strategic plan.

The workshop stressed the necessity of designing and activating several development initiatives to improve the quality of services offered by the Ministry to all its customers and partners internally and externally and give special care for developing and training its human cadres to enable them to carry out their role effectively and initiatively according to the standards of the Sheikh Khalifa Excellence in Government Performance example, pointing out the importance of giving the employees financial and moral incentives at an ongoing institutional level that guarantees work progress and promotes their sense of belonging and loyalty.

Furthermore, it requested the activation of the role of the committees and the excellence team at the Ministry through the periodic meetings aiming at reinforcing the principle of business planning and follow-up and guaranteeing the participation of the employees of different administrative levels in planning for the Ministry’s activities and its decision making.
