Visitors of Najah
2014 for Education and Careers Exhibition emphasized the importance of the role
played by the Ministry in being the link between the graduates and different
institutions and sectors in the country which seek Emiratization. Ghayath
Abdullah, one of the visitors to the exhibition and a graduate student who is
looking for a job, pointed out the importance of holding workshops and seminars
to educate students and parents about the specializations required in the
different sectors, and the skills and abilities necessary to compete in the
field of employment, on an ongoing basis and in line with the developments in
the State.
These workshops and
orientation days are often held by several authorities in the country, such as
the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Ministry of Labor,
and institutions and relevant bodies, which always work on the provision and
dissemination of market studies with respect to disciplines that have achieved
saturation, and those that are still in need of national cadres. Nevertheless, Abdullah
finds that there is a need for credibility by the institutions and companies
that advertise job vacancies, and they should choose the appropriate
competencies and capabilities, and they should be committed to objective
evaluation and performance standards in employment.
As for Said
al-Shehhi and Khalid al-Hashemi, two students from Al Ittihad School, they
confirmed, for those in charge of the Ministry’s platform, the importance of the
information they received about the Ministry’s services, and the explanation
that benefited them, especially in the area of scholarships and licensing of
universities, and the importance of being aware to matters related to the
licensing of educational institutions inside the State and abroad, and matters
arising therefrom.
Other visitors said
that the Ministry’s direct communication with their audience through
exhibitions as Najah, provides it with an opportunity to self-assess its
services, and identify the views of the audience and their requirements and
needs, in order to raise the level of its performance and achieve the desired
goal of providing precise, clear, and credible information for the students,
raise the level of higher education and scientific research in the State, and help
the State’s sectors find the capable and effective national cadres and employ
them in the right place.
The Exhibition was
launched on Tuesday, October 28th, at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition
Centre, under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al
Nahyan, Minister of Culture, Youth, and Community Development, and with the
support of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Abu Dhabi
Education Council, and Dubai International Academic City.
The Exhibition
represents an ideal opportunity for the youth seeking new educational and career
opportunities, through meeting with more than 100 local and international
exhibitors from leading universities and companies.
