Page Content

UAE is hosting the 23rd Congress of the International Academy of Legal Medicine 2015, from 19th until 21st of January, 2015, at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Center, in collaboration with INDEX Conferences & Exhibition Organization Est.

The Congress, which will be held for the first time outside Europe, contains more than 500 work papers, in addition to 55 of the best legal medicine experts in the world, and it is expected to attract about 2,000 participants and visitors, as about 50 specialized exhibitors have registered so far. The workshops will be held in the framework of the Congress, which is an opportunity for university students in the relevant forensic and criminal science fields to actively participate in these workshops, as some universities grant grades for activities for students who enhance their theoretical study with this participial participation. The Congress will also benefit specialists, scholars, and workers in the interior and justice sector at the State level and in the region, because it provides the perfect opportunity to listen to leading experts in the world.

It is noteworthy that the General Directorate of Criminal Evidence, Dubai Police, currently has five citizen experts in legal medicine, three men and two women, and two of them are citizen doctors who worked for five years with the German authorities on different issues, and gained considerable experience. In addition, Dubai Police has 88 scholarship students abroad, and they have the opportunity to work in any government sector, but in the case they decide to move to the private sector, the contract is to be considered to determine the cost of scholarship incurred by the Dubai Police to complete their studies and training, but it does not at all stand in front of its members’ ambitions.

On the sidelines of the Congress, an exhibition for the companies will be held to shed light on the latest products of forensic analysis of evidence, analysis of the crime scene, services and equipment of digital investigation, laboratory equipment, and others.
