A report published
by the “UNESCO Institute for Statistics” found that the UAE tops the list of
the Arab countries in the net flow ratio of inbound and outbound students,
which stands at (30). The UAE has (34,122) inbound students who are overseas
students studying here, against (7,719) outbound students who are local
students studying abroad. The ratio of the Arab world is as low as (-8.1%) for
Morocco, (-4.5%) for Tunisia, and (5.4%) for Lebanon, while Qatar came second
on the list with a ratio of (9.7%).
The figures, published
by the “UNESCO Institute for Statistics”, is the primary source for
cross-nationally comparable statistics on Education in more than (200)
countries and territories. These were recently highlighted by “Carian College
Advisors”, the UAE's leading independent educational consultancy focusing
exclusively on US admissions, as it announced a scholarship competition for
high school students in the UAE.

College Advisors", said that the UAE
topping the list among Arab countries speaks volumes for the high demand among
UAE students to pursue university degrees in reputed, quality-driven
universities within or outside the country. To be eligible for the
scholarships, students studying in their final two years of secondary school were
asked to write a (500) word essay about why they want to pursue an
undergraduate education in the US.
The winner of the
competition will receive a free “Crimson Package” from “Carian College Advisors”,
allowing them unlimited meetings with “Carian's” consultants, which would
include assistance with up to (14) applications. “Carian College Advisors” will
also award three runners-up with their “Ivy Package”, which offers weekly
meetings with consultants and assistance with up to (10) applications.
“Carian College
Advisors” offers a wide range
of consultancy services to UAE students wishing to complete their studies, it had
recently reported that the State of “California” is at the top of the list of
the “United States” which is the most attractive to undergraduates from UAE in
2013, according to a survey conducted by “Carian” on its customer list of
students who completed their university studies in the “United States”.
