The College of Business and Economics of UAE University concluded on Monday 8-6-2015 the Annual International Council for Small Business World Conference (ICSB) 2015, held for the first time in the Middle East under the theme of " Entrepreneurship at a Global Crossroads", under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, at the Dubai World Trade center for three days. The Conference hosted nearly 500 academics, researchers, educationists, and practitioners representing 55 countries, they discussed all topics and visions on small enterprises and entrepreneurship sector under an open space for sharing ideas, insights and experiences.
Professor Mohamed Albaili, Deputy VC for Academic Affairs of the UAE University, said that the University’s management believed that this Conference is compatible with the trends and strategies of the University which support the spirit of cooperation and teamwork, and promote the culture of teamwork to create an environment that has the culture of entrepreneurship, learning, development of the spirit of innovation, initiative, and excellence. Therefore, this four-day-Conference offered economic solutions and work mechanisms within specialized programs to enhance communication and share the best practices at the level of small and medium enterprises, and work hand in hand to improve the global system of entrepreneurship in order to support its growth. For her part, Professor Geralyn McClure Franklin, Dean of College of Business and Economics of the UAE University, said that hosting this World Conference by the College confirmed the extent of world economists and academics’ confidence in the programs and scientific courses offered by the College, and its good ranking and prestigious academic reputation. We have worked hard for the duration of the Conference to converge ideas and views of participants to come up with results that support small and medium enterprises under the umbrella of the growing and diversified UAE economy, in addition to engaging the students of College of Business and Economics and other international colleges in the conference sessions and discussions to increase their skills and inform them of the new international experiences. The organizing committee of the Conference had organized various programs for the participants in order to inform them of Dubai economic experience and its global vision through tours included different areas of the Emirate.
