The Embassy of
the UAE in Washington held an Iftar marking the holy month of Ramadan and Humanitarian
Work Day in commemoration of the departure of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan
Al Nahayan.
Attendees that were united for this occasion in the hospitality of His Excellency
Yousef Al Otaiba, the UAE Ambassador to United States included Sheikh Zayed bin Hamad bin Hamdan Al
Nahayan, members of Embassy diplomats and students studying in the United
States, UAE patients who receive treatment in the US and the Embassy staff and
their families.

Al-Otaiba indicated that Ramadan is an occasion of virtue and piety, reflection
and dedication to philanthropy and an opportunity to reunite with family and
friends under the rituals of a religion known for its call for pluralism and
commitment to peace and the dignity of mankind. He also highlighted that Ramadan
is the ideal time for remembering our responsibility to assist.
