Exclusive – The UAE Embassy
Cultural Attaché in Cairo, Dr. Fatma Salem Al-Ameri, confirmed that UAE
national students in the Egyptian Arab Republic are all okay in light of
current political and social unrest.
In an exclusive with the website
management of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research on
Wednesday, Al-Ameri stated that the Cultural Attaché has taken many steps, as
part of their responsibility and upon Embassy instructions, to evacuate students
to the State.
Al-Ameri explained that the
Cultural Attaché provided the Embassy operations room, daily rosters of the names
of all full-time students with different residency requirements at various
stages of study. Messages were sent to students via their mobile phones as well
as e-mails stipulating vigilance and continuous communication with the mission in
case further developments warrant additional steps. Al-Ameri explained that only
eight UAE nationals remain within the Egyptian Arab Republic for personal circumstances.
