Two workshops on higher education institutions' strategic planning were held by the Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA) at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research with the participation of 55 directors and managers of private higher education institutions in the country. The workshops were held with the cooperation and coordination of the British Council. Professor Alan Roff, the Deputy vice-chancellor at the University of Central Lancashire, and the major speaker at the workshops, extended his 25 years experience of work with his university, then explained the importance of long-term planning, setting specific objectives with the involvement of the parties related to the academic institution and setting standards and performance indicators that can be measured and followed up regularly, in addition to specifying the responsibilities for the implementation of each activity of the strategic plan.
