The period expires today for receiving proposed projects of participating teams in the Smart Applications Award of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The Award was launched under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahayan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, consistent with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum of the Smart Government, under which select features of the future government were determined.
The Ministry has extended the period of proposed projects submissions for participating teams in the Award. The Ministry also held awareness workshops about the services provided by the Ministry, that involved students from the four universities - UAEU, Khalifa University, Zayed University and HCT - who announced their participation in the first cycle of the 2013-2014 Award.
It is worth mentioning that the Smart Applications Award of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research is the first of its kind at a ministerial level, designed to stimulate and encourage universities and students to provide innovative solutions in the area of innovative smartphones and mobile applications and to ensure access to government services, not only to meet the public’s needs but to exceed their expectations.
