
The UAE Cultural
Attaché participated recently in Amman in the opening ceremony in the 15th
Amman International Book Fair, held from 3-13/September/2014, where the Jordanian
Prime Minister, Dr. Abdullah Ensour inaugurated the Fair as a deputy of his
Majesty King Abdullah II Bin Al Hussein.
His Excellency Dr.
Hamad Al Kaabi, Cultural Advisor of the Embassy of the State in Jordan, attended
the opening ceremony, and Jordanian Minister of Culture Dr. Lana Mamkegh, with the
participation of many Jordanian,
Arab and foreign publishers, writers and intellectuals.
The Jordanian
Publishers Association President Hassan Saleh, said that the annual Fair in the
capital of Amman is a challenge for the organizers, which are the Jordanian
Publishers Association, he expressed optimism that such a step despite the
inherent challenges, will
enhance the importance of the Fair as a unique cultural event on the local and
regional level, in addition to marketing books and opening broad prospects for
the intellectual, publisher and reader.
The Amman book Fair
features wide participation of Arab and foreign publishing houses, and there
are special booths for teaching and technology tools, in addition to a range of
programs and recreational and awareness plays for children and youth.
And UAE-Jordanian
relations are marked by continuous growth, they have excellent relations in the
area of cultural and scientific exchanges, including exchange of students and
experiences in curricula, tests, student activities and methods of evaluation, where
the Cultural Attaché and in the light of the vision of the Ministry of Higher
Education And Scientific Research, to develop relations between the two
countries and providing the best conditions for Emirati students, in addition
to its efforts in the follow-up of the students during the study period.
