institutions at “GITEX Technology 2013" offered several innovations and
projects developed by students. The "UAE University" student “Raya Al
Shamsi” presented her project the “Silent Smartphone” a smartphone application
which transfers the phone to silent mode through the device application.
While the student
"Fatima Al Sweiri" from "Higher Colleges of Technology”
presented a project to locate people during natural disasters, such as
earthquakes, fires and wars, through a device connected to the human body which
gives precise indications about their location and state of health.
“Huawei”, and the ”Higher
Colleges of Technology” (HCT) announced the successful deployment of a “Pilot
E-Classroom Program” in which students and faculty at the (HCT) colleges will
have access to a host of new digital tools for creating a more interactive
learning environment. Visitors of the stand were able to sit in on a live class
being held at the “HCT Abu Dhabi Men’s College”.
“Hamdan Bin Mohammad
e-University” (HBMeU) has highlighted the high level of academic programs,
educational initiatives, and in particular it has launched its “Virtual
Classroom System Via Mobile Devices” this technology enables students to access
virtual lessons easily anywhere via smartphones or Tablet PCs, which enhances
flexibility and quality of e-learning.
