Page Content

In line with the "Qualification Framework for Emirates" adopted by the Vice President Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum " last July, as the first-of-its-kind national criteria to classify academic qualifications in the three education sectors: general education, higher education, and technical, vocational and professional education and training in the State, many federal and independent institutions in the State worked together on the application of this pioneering initiative, to participate in the national human resources development and to serve the nation and achieve sustainable development.

The "University of Dubai" recently declared offering a discount of (20%) on tuition for nationals working in Government offices, and who did not have the opportunity to obtain a Bachelor's degree. The University President revealed that (40) specialized programs in Human Resource Development attracted (500) employees last year, along with those that are specially designed according to the needs of enterprises with regard to human resources development and training and rehabilitation.

The Ajman Municipality and Planning Department also launched a scholarship program «Ea'dad» for the year 2013, within its strategies in the youth rehabilitation and nationalization of some important functions in the department. The department offered a number of specialties within the program such as civil engineering, architectural, urban planning, mechanical engineering, agricultural science, and statistics, food safety diploma and environmental safety. The department called for high school graduates to enroll in the program, the applicant must be a U.A.E. national, possess a high school certificate with an average of not less than 80%, pass a personal interview, and to pledge to work in the department after graduation.

It is expected that through the application of the this system in State institutions in various fields, in addition to local and international recognition of qualifications of personnel, to contribute to raising level of  graduates and urging them to continue to acquire the competencies and skills that help them meet the requirements of the labor market. In addition to establishing a quality system for education and training based on specific and clear output which increases the credibility of national qualifications and enhance confidence in the national skills and knowledge. Also contribute to the smooth transition between different education courses and vocational training.
