The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research took serious steps towards implementing its new strategy corresponding to the standards of the Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Award in Government Performance. Thus, it constituted a high commission and a main committee for performance development and created an excellence team to implement all the standards of the award program as part of its efforts to compete.
At a meeting held with the employees of the Ministry, Dr. Said Al-Hassani, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, put forth the aspects of the upcoming period and the Ministry’s efforts to implement its strategic plan following the Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Award example in a way that fulfills its ambitions to compete for the Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Award in Government Performance, stressing that the Ministry’s strategy is based on the excellence of all the employees of different departments, where each employee at the Ministry will have a role in the new strategy, which will guarantee excellence in all the Ministry’s sectors.
He explained that the Ministry of Higher Education is considered a service ministry in the first place. Thus, there should be continuous concern to offer the best services to customers in view of gaining their satisfaction as a step of excellence, pointing out the Ministry’s strategic plan based on team work and employee incorporation in view of increasing the quality of performance in all departments.
The Ministry constituted an excellence team where team leader, Yumna Hamad Badwa, declared that the team assumed an organizational role represented in creating a link between the General Secretariat and the Ministry, receiving instructions, distributing guides, manuals and brochures related to the program's regulations and standards, activating all the technical capacities and skills at the Ministry and directing the same towards implementing the program standards, working closely with outside consultants to assist the Ministry in implementing the requirements of all the excellence program categories, establishing the periodic meetings system in all the Ministry’s departments and guaranteeing to hold the meetings on time according to a clear agenda and results that may be followed and evaluated.
