Scholarships Office of the Ministry of Presidential Affairs announces deadline for external scholarships

The Scholarships Office of the Ministry of Presidential Affairs, on Monday, October 12th, 2015, announced that Wednesday, November 11th, 2015, is the deadline for application for the external scholarships to students who meet the conditions of the scholarship. This came during the induction meeting held by Office at the headquarters of the National Archives in Abu Dhabi, in order to introduce the national twelfth grade students, who are scientifically distinguished at the government and private schools in Abu Dhabi, to the scholarship’s condition, advantages, and procedures for applying for the scholarship, in addition to educating students about the requirements and steps for applying for the outstanding global universities. Dr. Ali Al Arri, Director of the Scholarships Department of the Scholarships Office, explained that it is required of the applicant for the scholarship to get 90% or above in the general high school diploma or its equivalent for the private schools, and distinct marks at the secondary level, and to pass the English Placement Test. Al Arri added that about 30 scholarships will be offered for outstanding national students of the next school year, while the total number of students who apply at the Scholarships Office annually stands at nearly 900 students, and the total number of graduates of Scholarships Office has reached 400 graduates so far, who work in the most important authorities and state institutions. He explained that the Office intends to choose a group of scientifically distinguished citizen students and send them to study in the most prestigious universities in the world, in order to qualify a leading generation from the sons and daughters of the UAE, able to face the challenges of the future, and supply the State with qualified national cadres in the various scientific disciplines, so as to develop the human element in the State, through the acquisition of the latest knowledge, science and experience. As for the internal scholarships, Asma Al Hammadi, First Scholarships Coordinator of Scholarships Department, said that internal scholarships are offered annually for a total of 150 distinguished high school students who obtain 98% or higher in high school diploma, and wish to complete their undergraduate degree within the State, and the number of current students enrolled in the program so far is 503 students, and the number of graduates is 555 students, 94% of whom have worked at different authorities and institutions in the State.
