Dr. Adnan Bin Hamza Zahid, Vice Rector for Higher Studies and Scientific Research at King Abdulaziz University in Saudi Arabia, announced the start of receiving scientific papers for the Academic Counseling in Higher Education in GCC Countries Conference, which will be held during the period from November 2nd to 3rd, 2015, at King Faisal Center for Conferences at the University, after it launched the website of the Conference, explaining that it is an opportunity for researchers and academics to participate in the various themes of the Conference. Dr. Zahid, in his capacity as Chairman of the Supreme Committee of the Conference, said that the themes of the conference deal with the importance of the academic counseling , its strategies, and its integration in education and higher education and the challenges it faces, as well as the role of the institution in achieving academic counseling quality.
He pointed out that the Conference aims to disseminate and promote the academic counseling culture and review of the most recent trends and successful experiences in the development of academic counseling methods, pointing out that the Conference will focus on linking outputs of higher education to the labor market, identify the major challenges facing counseling and ways to address them, shed light on the leading experiences and technical practices in this area, develop skills of academic counselors, prepare helping factors to enrich the intellectual production of specialized scientific research, and identify the evaluation standards of academic counseling programs to achieve quality. The Conference is aimed at the faculty members, university students, and researchers in the field student counseling, and those interested in the growth and development of human resources and topics of academic counseling, and it seeks to serve the academic counseling in the Saudi and the GCC universities.
