The United Nations, through its celebration of this year's International Youth Day, aims to complete its interest in the subject of migration of young people which it put forward in 2013, and on which it highlighted the causes of migration, valued its positive effects, and tried to address the negative ones, and its slogan for this year is: Youth and Mental Health. Migration also provides valuable opportunities and contributes to the development of local communities and society as a whole. It can also lead to risks and unacceptable situations, such as racism and exploitation, which lead to psychological symptoms that, in turn, lead to their exclusion and discourage their desire to seek help, for fear of labeling them with negative societal qualities.

The Organization is seeking through out this year to highlight the experiences of courage for some young people who have chosen to talk about it in order to overcome discrimination, and to ensure the provision of care and health conditions appropriate for these young people in order to enjoy the conditions of a healthy and complete life free of isolation and shame, and provide them with the services and support they need.

Irina Bokova, Director-General of the UNESCO, in her message on the occasion, said as the young adulthood phase is considered a radical change phase, and the journey from childhood to the adult world may be complex, which raises many issues related to mental health, that the theme of International Youth Day this year is Youth and Mental Health, and the enjoyment of young women and men with mental health is necessary to maintain the health of society as a whole, as they are the source of innovative ideas and leaders of positive change.

Education is on top of the priority list that includes fifteen fields in the World Programme of Action for Youth, and his Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development, has praised the wise leadership in the State that gives young people special attention and care, stressing the importance of providing every opportunity for them to learn, work, and fully participate in the process of development in the State, and His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, makes preparing , developing and enabling the young people a national priority, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, pays special attention to each national program which aims to motivate young people towards creativity and innovation.

The National Media Council and the Emirates Publishers Association have recently signed an agreement to support publication in the State and care for the aspirations of young Emiratis.

At the level of taking care of young talents and developing their abilities, UAE participated in the activities of the workshop for young people, organized by the Secretariat General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf under the title "Health, Sports, and Entertainment Industry," which was held for two days the 11th and 12th of August in Dubai, with the participation and attendance of many dignitaries and senior officials of the Member States in the Council.

This workshop comes in implementation of the directives of their Majesties and Highnesses the GCC leaders at their summit, which was held in Kuwait in December 2013, that the Secretariat General should take the necessary steps to give effect to the results of the first Youth Congress, which was held in Riyadh in October 2013, and continue working on the proposal for more projects and programs to achieve the aspirations of the youth in the GCC countries and meet their needs, in the belief of their Majesties and Highnesses that young people are the source of power of the Gulf society, and their hope in the promising future, and they are the goal of development and its effective and influential means.

At a time when many of the advanced and emerging economies suffer from the ghost of aging, and fears of its impact on the future of economic growth for the coming years, the Credit Rating Agency -Moody's has recently ranked the UAE in the first place in the world as the most young economy during the period from 2015 to 2030, based on the proportion of the population over the age of 65 of the total population and manpower in the State.
