On Education for Peace 2013 day UAE is the fourth destination of students worldwide

United Nations Secretary General "Ban Ki-moon" praised the recently the positions of his Highness Sheikh "Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan", head of the State, his efforts to promote world peace and development, and  his wise and balanced domestic and foreign policies. The Emirates is considered a symbol of balance and moderation, wisdom and an essential element in the formula for stability, peace and security at the regional and global levels.

At a time when the Secretary General announced the International Day of Peace 2013 theme is "Education for Peace", an international report stated that the UAE's educational sector spending currently represents about 24 percent of total government expenditure. And the promising prosperity and growth factors in the UAE are in the ranks of the most favorite destinations for foreign educational institutions. In addition to the investors that are interested in opportunities in the higher education sector.

The UAE is one of the largest centers of international education, with (37) branches of prestigious universities, representing approximately (19%) of university branches abroad. As the manpower planning study undertaken by the "Dubai International Academic City" in cooperation with "Deloitte" in 2013, showed that the U.A.E. State is the fourth destination to students seeking to study outside their home countries.

The Emirates has advanced in the "Global Peace Index", ranking (36), with a rise of ten degrees from the (46) place in 2012, ahead of the United Kingdom (44), United States of America in (99).

The index ranks (162) countries and is issued by "The Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP) "based in Sydney, Australia. It is calculated based on (22) indicators, ranging from a nation’s level of military expenditure to its relations with neighboring countries and the percentage of its prison population. murder rate,  and on eight pillars to record how peaceful a society is, including good governance and sound business environment, equitable distribution of resources, accepting the rights of others, good relations with neighboring States, the free flow of information and high educational levels, and low levels of corruption.

The UAE also ranked in (59) place in the Violence Containment Spending Report, and (38) place in the Positive Peace Index, which is among the top gainers in the index.

The State scored (2. 586) points in the practice of good government, (1.655) points in the correct economic climate index, (1.248) points in the fair distribution of resources, (3.165) points in accepting the rights of others, (2.998) points on good relations with neighboring countries, (2.988) points in the free flow of information, (2.988) points in high level of human capital, and (2.481) in low levels of corruption
