Al Khawarizmi International
College in Abu Dhabi is offering a Bachelor of Media in Arabic language, and is
the first Arabic language program offered by the College, where the first batch
of students joined the program last week on campus in Abu Dhabi.
The program has
recently received initial accreditation from the Commission for Academic
Accreditation of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the
College expects the quality of study plan designed to meet the needs of
national development agenda to contribute in the field of media and its
relationship to the requirements of the labor market in the State.
While the Higher Colleges
of Technology Dubai Women’s College has launched the Electronic Engineering
Department, which was introduced this year to meet the needs of the local
market of national human resources required by the public and private sectors
in all national institutions and companies.
Dr. Tayeb Kamali, Vice
Chancellor of the Higher Colleges of Technology at the State level, said that the
development of this discipline came after consultations between the College’s
administration and the members of the Advisory Committee, which includes senior
officials in employment sectors in the UAE, where the recommendation was to
increase the number of citizens eligible to work in the electronic engineering
sector, to cover the needs of the domestic market over the next 10 years.
On a related level the
Emirates College for Advanced Education announced it will launch next January a
new technology program on "simulation of teaching science", with the
aim of producing "the comprehensive teacher", who has the skills to
teach science and technology, to increase the professional competence in the
teaching of scientific material.
The new program
supports efforts to teach students the scientific material in accordance with
the latest tools and advanced curricula and employment of techniques and
technology in science, in order to prepare national cadre trained with global
skills before starting scientific training, and prepare them for the real
classroom environment, and the challenges faced in the field of education.
