The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, in cooperation with the Society for the Protection of Arabic Language, launched the second phase of "My Language is Arabic" Competition, on Wednesday, November 11th, 2015. The Competition is aimed at the federal government and local officials at the UAE level, and will last for two months, starting from November 11th, 2015, until January 11th, 2016. On this occasion, His Excellency Saif Rashed Al Mazroui, Advisor of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, said that the launch of this Competition comes in response to the directives of His Excellency Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, to support the Arabic language and the consolidation of national identity in order to achieve the UAE Vision 2021, which aims to make the State a center of excellence for the Arabic language on the one hand, and to complete the first phase, which we launched last year at the global level, targeting activists from individuals on social networking sites, on the other hand, in a practical step to make the Ministry a major contributor to activating the Cabinet Resolution No. 21/2 of 2008, which requires the adoption of the Arabic language as an official language in all correspondences with all government authorities (federal and local) at the State level. For his part, Dr. Ali Abdul Qader Al Hammadi, Deputy Chairman of the Society for the Protection of Arabic Language, praised the constructive cooperation with the Ministry, and valued the active role of its leadership in achieving the strategic vision and directions of the UAE government as an incubator for leading scientific institutions that seek to bring about the desired positive change in the UAE society, pointing out that this Competition has formed a real nucleus for a sustainable initiative, as its first phase received an impressive response from the targeted authorities, while it is hoped that this phase, targeting the category of employees, will achieve its goals. He also praised the efforts of the Ministry and those in charge for their keenness to support the joint programs with the Society, in order to make them a success and achieve the overall development. For her part, Rowda Saad, Director and Head of the voluntary "Arabi Mubeen” initiative, called on all government employees at their different job levels, knowledge, and experience, to register and participate in the Competition, especially that innovation is considered a fundamental criterion for arbitration and winning, which forms a commitment to the components of the 4th generation system launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum in March 2015, to consolidate the innovation culture among the UAE society, noting the need to see the relevant details by logging in to the website of the Ministry, stressing at the same time that the language is one of the most important elements of national identity, and our commitment to our Arabic language is a strength to our national existence.
