Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh “Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum”, Crown Prince of “Dubai”, Chairman of the “Dubai Executive Council”, and Supreme Head of “Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University”, the university launches the “Annual Congress 2014”, with the participation of “Dubai Smart Government Department” under the theme “Leading Transformation to Sustainable Excellence”, and it will take place from March (3 to 5) at “Atlantis The Palm” hotel in “Dubai”.

The congress comes in line with the “UAE Vision 2021”, which aims to make the UAE one of the best countries in the world through the provision of distinguished health care, and services of high quality, and the transformation from traditional education into the smart one, which was highlighted by His Excellency Sheikh “Hamdan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan”, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, when he praised the “Second Government Summit 2014” for specifying a key sessions on its first day, which addressed the issue of keeping pace with the knowledge era and the future educational services, and during which the major global trends towards the use of technology in the development of education, and identifying the opportunities and challenges that face the smart education to keep up with the modern times, were discussed in order to prepare qualified cadres capable of adopting and materializing the leadership vision.

The congress agenda will include four roundtables under the themes: “Smart Value for Smart Customer”, “Smart Learning with Smart Learners”, “Transforming Healthcare Delivery in the Arab World”, and “Transforming the Environmental Management Strategies in Arab Countries”. The congress will include a number of sessions and interactive workshops, and awards for “Best Paper” and “Best Student Research”, and it will attract a number of top scientists, researchers, academics, decision makers, senior government officials, e-Learning experts, business leaders and international representatives, in order to exchange views, expertise, and ideas, and to present the innovative initiatives that serve the sustainable excellence.

His Highness Sheikh “Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum” has recently launched the name “Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University” instead of “Hamdan Bin Mohammed e-University” as a step to keep abreast with the smart shift process adopted in the UAE in order to be ranked as one of the best five governments in the world by 2021. It is also worth mentioning that the university was ranked first among the e-Learning universities in the Arab world in many areas.
