Awareness workshops
regarding the MOHESR’s services will begin today (24-6-2013) and are the initial
implementation of the first phase (2013-2014) of the Smart Applications Award
that the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research launched last
week under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al
Nahayan, in line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum,
the Smart Government, under which select features of the
future government were determined. This phase comes prior to the receipt of the
proposed projects of teams participating in the Award which begins on the
second of July.
It is noteworthy that the Award
is the first of its kind at the ministerial level, and aims to stimulate and
encourage universities and students to provide creative and innovative solutions
in the field of smart phone applications and to ensure access to government
services around-the-clock to meet the needs of users and exceed their
expectations.
Three universities (United
Arab Emirates, Khalifa, and Higher Colleges of Technology) announced the
participation of students in the first session of the Award.
