Four universities in
cooperation with the Ministry of the Presidential Affairs participated in the
awareness campaign to promote the culture of working in the private sector for
university students and to promote the "Absher" initiative, the
Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to reinforce the federal action, and in
response to the directives of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan
on "enhancing the participation of nationals in the labor market.
The campaign was
launched on Monday (23.9.2013) under the patronage of his Highness Sheikh
Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential
Affairs, with the participation of the “U.A.E University”, “Zayed University
"," Khalifa University” and the" Higher Colleges of Technology
Al Hamiri” Secretary General in the Ministry of the Presidential Affairs
pointed that the awareness campaign to promote the culture of working in the
private sector, will contribute to support national students to choose their specialties,
according to the jobs available in the labor market, and will contribute to the
creation of a new business culture on the importance of the private sector in
the State. The awareness campaign is targeting (50) thousand students from the
different participating universities.
He praised the
participation of national universities in the awareness campaign, pointing out the
role of higher education institutions, and their contribution to provide
direction and guidance which would have an impact in creating a big shift among
students in choosing their specialties to accommodate the labor market.
The campaign focuses
on several areas including: introducing
the students to the private sector, and to highlight the advantages of working
in the private sector and highlight some of the expertise in the private
sector, particularly the national ones, and highlight the partners of the
“Absher” campaign and employment opportunities offered by them.
