Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, represented by Fatima Mohammed Al Jafri, Assistant Advisor in the Scientific Research Department in «Promoting culture of innovation in the UAE» seminar which held by the “Gulf Studies Center” in “Dar Al Khaleej Printing and Publishing”, on Monday 14th of December 2015, in the newspaper headquarters in Sharjah. Participants in the seminar gave a number of recommendations, the most important are; the need to establish a national authority to support innovation and advise innovators to enable their creativity and invest it in knowledge, taking into account the formation of incubators to enhance a culture of creative and development work, stressing that innovation in the UAE started many years ago, as guided by the thought of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who regarded humans as the basis for sustainable development, in which he has invested and guided their energies, knowledge and work in service of the homeland, and it is stimulated now by a wise leadership that is working to implement a national strategy for innovation in seven political axes that represent the backbone of the economic and social knowledge fabric of the UAE which is part of the State's Vision 2021. It also recommended the creation of legislation aimed at future policies for innovation, and to pay attention to the participation of the private sector, and the role of the family and educational institutions, and developing educational programs to incorporate innovation into their curricula, and building international partnerships and benefiting from their experience in the transfer of knowledge to the State and training of national cadres and investing it in innovation guidance towards various fields that contribute to achieving sustainable innovation, to support the State in diversifying its economy and reduce their dependence on oil.
