The Ministry of Education
(MOE) is keen on introducing the students with these ideas in accordance with
modern educational standards.
reinforces students' belonging to the homeland through its curricula and
occasions received MOE’s great attention and support as it has devoted itself
to reinforce students' belonging to the homeland based on modern educational
standards which increase the students' awareness of the importance of being
proud of and preserving their national identity. The MOE included, in its
curricula scheduled since the beginning of this academic year, materials and
more than 50 classroom activities within the activity books attached to some
subjects so that students can conclude and extract educational objectives which
strengthen their sense and national belonging.
In detail, upon
launching the national curricula, the MOE was keen on reinforcing belonging and
loyalty in students' minds through the inclusion of national occasions such as
Martyr's Day, Science Day and National Day into the lessons of some courses in
a step that aims at associating the students with the recent local, regional
and global events witnessed by the State in a manner that places the students
in the center of the current events in accordance with well-studied educational
plans inseparable from the whole academic and human values which the MOE is
keen on providing the students with under the umbrella of the Emirati School.
As the UAE
history is full of championships of its loyal sons who contributed to
establishing the position of the State internationally and regionally and in
honour of their national role, the MOE has included many lessons and
accompanying activities in different school stages that deal with the martyrs
and their sacrifices as well as the National Day and the Founders of the Union.
This is intended to celebrate and instil these sacrifices in the minds of the
students through including them in the school subjects as the MOE believes that
it is necessary for the future generations to be aware of the glorious
sacrifices of their founding ancestors.
In this context,
the MOE has included dedicated lessons on Martyr's Day in Art, Arabic, visual
arts, social studies and national education as well as physical and health
education through merging enrichment activities and information to be presented
in accordance with the educational objectives designed by curricula experts in
the MOE. Such curricula are meant to address students’ minds as to reinforce
their sense of belonging to and values and eternal national occasions of their
which deal with the national occasions, Science Day, Martyr's Day and National
Day are over fifty activities included in the mentioned subjects. Such
activities are characterized by diversity and possibility of being implemented
by the students using what they acquired from other subjects such as design and
technology so that they achieve enrichment and integration. The importance of
these occasions is emphasized through encouraging the students to take active
part in them and to observe creativity in their presentation.
these subjects, the MOE depended on the document of the founder, the late
Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God have mercy upon him, where such subjects
included activities that would encourage the students to participate in the
national occasions systematically through designing drawings for the Martyr's
Day and other national occasions in addition to visiting the families of the
martyrs and holding art exhibitions by students in different schools halls.
This is in the context of the MOE's strategy which aims at integrating the
students during their study in their surroundings in accordance with plans that
include educational objectives that enrich the minds of students so that they
can transfer these national occasions such as Martyr's Day and National Day to
active daily practices rather than including narrative information about such
national curricula applied by the MOE from the beginning of this academic year
aimed at providing a realistic proposal to the students through using the
experiences of the UAE nationals in a manner that serves the objectives of the
educational process on the one hand and achieves integration with students on
the other hand. Such steps are taken within a well-studied academic framework
that fulfils the MOE's objective to have an integrated educational product that
is fully aware of its past, present and future alike.
