The Ministry of Education announces the end of conditional admission period in both universities and scholarship programs.
The Ministry of Education – Higher Education Affairs – has announced the end of the registration period for High School students in the conditional admission programs for universities and scholarship programs on April 5th, 2018.
The initial admission of students will be announced in the period between April 29th and May the 3rd to insure the students' seats in the Institution of Higher Education.
Their acceptance will be based on meeting the conditions that are set by the university and the program the student wishes to enroll in, after the final grades of the Public Secondary School are issued.
The Ministry of Education has opened the registration for admission to universities under the conditional admission program on October 22nd, 2017.
The ministry has indicated that the students must access their electronic accounts in the Unified Admission System (NABO) to follow up with their application for early acceptance and to receive their letters of conditional acceptance.
Furthermore, the students must confirm their acceptance of the admission letters from April 29th, to May 17th, 2018.
Failure to do so will jeopardize the student's chance of final admission.
The students will be notified by the final admission notice through text message, along with updating their electronic pages with acceptance results after the official announcement of the final grades of the General Secondary School.
The Ministry has also pointed out that students who have not yet applied will have another chance for registration from April 22nd to June 7th, 2018.
The Ministry has taken into consideration that the admission of the students in this case is not guaranteed and depends on the availability of seats in the universities the students wish to enroll in.
The Ministry has noted that the students who did not take the National Test "EmSAT" should inquire the national test department at the Ministry, or the Service center, to determine the exam's date.
However, the applications that did not receive early admission will be considered by the institutions later on.
As for the students in private schools, they must download on their accounts via the registration link copies of their certified certificates of the 10th and 11th grade, along with a stamped copy by the school of any available results from their 12th grade.
The ministry has urged the students to register at universities before their involvement in performing National Service.
Undersecretary for Academic Affairs for Higher Education, HE Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim Al-Muall said: "The conditional admission, is a tool to achieve greater regulation of the registration process and to facilitate procedures. It is also a means of educating students and giving them the opportunity to apply to the best universities inside and outside the country. This opportunity also encourages students to maintain their academic excellence. The students are accepted by the universities early in the registration process based on their results in their 10th and 11th grades, as well as the first and second semester of the 12th grade. The early admission is conditional on the students' final results of the 12th grade, and thus ensuring the students' seat at the university and the program they wish to join."
