HE Hussain Al Hammadi, Minister
of Education, stressed that the success of the National Science, Technology and
Innovation Festival is the result of the attention, care and support of the wise
leadership. He noted that HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of
Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, is an extraordinary
and inspiring model leader who has always cared for education and has now directed
that innovative projects presented at the National Science, Technology and Innovation
Festival be displayed at the Sea Palace as part of the initiative titled "Exceptional
Works at the Sea Place" so that he sees them, learns about the creative works
of UAE school students and honors outstanding ones. 7 innovative projects were selected
out of 100 ones.
These remarks were made during
the closing ceremony on the last day of the five-day National Science, Technology
and Innovation Festival held at Dubai Festival Arena under the patronage of HH Sheikh
Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander
of the UAE Armed Forces.
The closing ceremony was attended by
HE Jameelah Al Muhairi, Minister of State for Public Education, HE Hessa Buhumaid,
Minister of Community Development, HE Ohood Al Roumi, Minister of State for Happiness,
and HE Sara Al Amiri, Minister of State for Advanced Science, along with educational
leaders, experts, students and specialists in educational affairs.
HE Hussain Al Hammadi addressed
the students saying: “HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu
Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, follows you closely
all the time and your updates, achievements and aspirations always reach him and
make him happy and proud.”
“Because he is
an exceptional and inspiring leader, he always motivates students using various
ways and means. Today, he is proud of what you have achieved through your efforts
to realize your aspirations and contribute to building our homeland,” the
Minister of Education added.
Al Hammadi thanked HH Sheikh
Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and
Ruler of Dubai, for honoring us by his visit to the Festival and his continued support
for education and students, which had a good impact on students and the audience.
He indicated that there were
100 innovative projects that competed strongly, making the festival their gateway
to the public. All projects were of high quality and took much effort and thinking.
Al Hammadi said that “Students
who made these projects deserve all appreciation. To reward the outstanding ones,
seven innovative projects were selected for display at the Emirates Palace in Abu
Dhabi. These will be viewed by HH the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, who will honor
their creators and listen to a brief explanation from them about the significance
of their projects.
He stressed that all participants
in the event certainly deserve such honoring, the title "extraordinary"
and such praise and attention by the wise leadership.
HE the Minister of Education
thanked HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy
Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, for being the teacher and role model
of successive generations.
He also thanked all leaders,
officials, knowledge experts, teachers, students, parents and everyone who inspired
and contributed to this scientific event, the National Science, Technology and Innovation
Festival.
He said that all participants
contributed to enriching the event, pointing out that the festival was a pioneering
platform with its innovative activities, valuable presentations and future goals.
He stressed that innovation is not restricted to anyone, but is open to all hardworking
students to be scientists, inventors and innovators. A new idea is born out of the
desire for change. We in the UAE are preparing to change and enter into a world
that is more complex with its techniques, intelligence and knowledge but of course
better and more useful to mankind.
Al Hammadi addressed students
saying, “You are our hope, the makers of the future, and the generation that will
carry our flag everywhere. During the five days of the festival, you listened to
pioneering experiences and learned about latest developments and what the future
holds in terms of innovation, artificial intelligence, modern technology, space
science, robotics, advanced technology and much more. All of this falls within the
agenda and goals of our beloved country and the aspirations of our wise leaders,
who drew the future of the country and planned for it to be the best in the world
by the centennial of the UAE.
He stated that the efforts
to realize this begin with students, for they are the ones who will make this country
globally competitive with a sustainable knowledge economy; they are worthy of this
honor and capable of performing this national task.
He called upon students,
who are the real wealth of the nation, to continue their academic journey with dedication,
effort and hard work, and to continue researching and exploring the drivers of science,
innovation and progress.
He said that with the conclusion
of the festival, we signal another ideal beginning for students to set their goals,
plan for them and hold to their dreams. He said that a dream that is not accompanied
by will, hard work and ambition will never become true.
He pointed out that the festival
continues its knowledge momentum year after year, and benefits visitors and students
a lot. We at the Ministry of Education will spare no effort to ensure the availability
of all requirements of educational development; all resources are dedicated for
this purpose.
The Minister of
Education concluded by saying, “we in the UAE look forward to becoming a leading
nation in the fields of science and modern technology. To achieve this, we should
not remain importers of knowledge and science. We must produce knowledge and export
it abroad. We want you to seek to learn more than you are taught at your schools
and universities; we want you to be carriers of knowledge and leading pioneers and
innovators who make the difference.”
