male and female Emirati students took part in a unique student innovation
experience as part of the “Ambassadors of Innovation Program”, launched
recently by the Ministry of Education as part of “Our Ambassadors” Initiative
2018. This Program is considered an ideal platform for students in the Emirates
School to achieve high-level skills that enable them to learn about the most
prestigious universities and institutes in the field of innovation during their
visit to world-class destinations in these areas.
Students
from the Ambassadors of Innovation Program visited six prestigious
universities around the world, which were: Stanford Pre-Collegiate at Stanford
University in the United States of America, Trinity College of Ireland,
National University of Singapore, Imperial College London in the United
Kingdom, Syracuse University in the United States, in addition to VIA University College in
Denmark.
During
their visit to these leading universities, our students have been able to
engage in advanced educational courses that open their minds to innovation
fields in various sciences and their role in maintaining the progress of
societies and improving their standard of living. Students also became
acquainted with the current and future plans of the countries they have visited
in the fields of innovation as a priority of increasing interest by the various
governments of the world.
Commenting
on the program, Her Excellency Dr. Amna Al Dahhak Al Shamsi, Assistant
Undersecretary for the Welfare and Activities Sector at the Ministry of
Education, said: "Through Our Ambassadors Program, we aim to foster a
culture of innovation among our talented Emirati students and thus equip them
with the tools and skills to become global innovators. This program is in line
with the UAE's National Innovation Strategy and the 4th Industrial Revolution,
as it aims to empower our youth with skills that contribute to the national
economy and help in putting the UAE on the map of the most innovative countries
in the world. "
